So I’m finally on the toe of the Embossed Leaves sock. I’m happy to report that I actually had three nights in a row to knit, three nights!!!! Amazing that all kids were asleep without a fuss by 8pm. Life is good.
I was slightly disappointed Friday night however to discover that this pattern does not use the short row heel but a heel flap. I was ready to tackle it but oh well, another night, another sock.
Here’s a shocking photo. You may all gasp at the danger in this picture:
It was a close call but no knitting was damaged.
This is much better:
And a close up:
I”m not sure how the lace is working with this yarn. I love this yarn so very much, but I’m on the fence as to whether it works with the lace pattern. Either way I’m keeping it, no ripping for me thanks but I’d still love opinions.
I got some sewing done too but I’ll leave that for another post. We’ve got a world record to go and break this morning.
If you like it, that’s what counts.
Love the embossed leaves! I’ve got this pattern on my “to-knit” list for the fall too. Awesome on the kid-free, knitting nights!!
I actually love how the pattern and yarn works together on these! You can always knit another pair in a semisolid to really show off the pattern, but these are truly lovely.
That first photo made my heart stop. I like the socks as they are. The beautiful thing is you could knit the same pattern in a solid, and no one would guess they are the same thing.
GORGEOUS socks – lucky escape too! hehehe!
ROFL! That pic cracks me up!
The sock looks STELLAR and the pattern works so well with the colors. I think it’s perfect!
I’ve not knit that pattern so I have no idea what it is supposed to look like. But, IMHO, yours is just lovely! Nice work. And, yes. I gasped long and loud at the picture of the knitting in peril!
The embossed leaves are a bit lost in that yarn but I don’t think it matters all that much, they are still very pretty lace socks.
That picture had me cracking up! That little bitty hand…and all the blur! hAHAHAHAHAH!
your sock is gorgeous!
The socks look great, I love the color
I like it! I think a “quieter” color scheme may show off the lace pattern better, but I think this version looks great.
I think it is beautiful. I have started a pair made out of Lanas Puras Melosa Fingering yarn and am knitting a pair of Lace mock cable socks with it. I should have a photo of some of the knitting up by the weekend pop in and take a look.
I think the yarn and pattern are work – gorgeous! I love heel flaps and gussets. 🙂
Gasp! first pic is great, love it. very pretty yarn, impressed w/ the knitting, as always:)
Hi Knittymama!
I sent an email to the coffeeswap address awhile back, but since the swap’s pretty much done, I wasn’t sure if you’ve been checking that account. If you don’t mind contacting me, I have a question re: the last contest on the swap (swap #3). Thank you so much! 🙂
btw I love the socks!
OOoooooOOO!
That yarn is so pretty! I think I must own it.:)
