The Plan

About once or twice a year, I get into a frenzy. The Skeptic hates this, because it pretty much means I stomp around the house saying things like:

“I can’t believe we live like this!”

“How can this house be this disorganized? Am I the only person who cares that it’s organized?”

“I can’t find anything!”

“I can’t work like this!”

This, of course, all leads up to The Plan. The Plan makes the Skeptic want to run and hide, for although he is a hard working guy, The Plan usually results in the Skeptic putting bookshelves together at 11pm, messing with drywall, of making a checkmark on a list that says he’s cleaned the toilet for the week.

Of course, we are in the middle of The Plan right now. And since we are in the middle of it, the house is currently trashed and I’m doing more organizing than anything else. Soon however, I will have pictures of my completed re-do of all my stuff and I am very. very excited about this.

  1. LOL – this sounds like what’s been going on over at Cursing Mama’s… I’m sure Mr Motorcycle could commiserate with the Skeptic!

  2. I do that, too! LOL My husband says that I get this twitch over my right eye that warns him. Since we’re both Grey’s Anatomy fans, he’s taken to calling me Dr. McTwitchy when I’m in a frenzy. 🙂

  3. ‘Tis the season for the spring cleaning bug! We just had our major clean out this past weekend. Luckily RM and I were on the same page. 😉

  4. We had a major clean-up, too. Not a good week to forget to put the garbage can at the curb, though.

  5. Sarah

We just had that last weekend! It involved an overhaul of the playroom and an organizational overhaul of the craft supplies. I believe little plastic drawers were purchased at Target to organize the crayon paper from the painting paper. The saftey scissors found a home. It was a wonder.

BTW, I love Knittybaby’s outfit! Can you tell me anything about it? 🙂

  6. I started to get all hyper-excited about getting organized. Then I got pneumonia. Now I just look at all the crud building up and say, “meh.”

Once I’m all better, I’ll be back on track! Does the Skeptic take orders for bookshelves and checkmarks?

  7. I have the same freak-out about once a month! My husband has learned to just keep quiet and help clean. He’s hopeless at organizing, though, so that’s my dept entirely.

  8. Oh, I thought that I was the only one to do this “clean and organize” freak-out! Nice to know I am in good company. My DH sighs in resignation. It usually results in much extra work on his part and many trips to the building/handy-man store. I am also good at moving furniture and organizing late at night. Everyone wakes up the next day with a different looking house than when they went to bed. Moving elves are suspected by all, but I know it was just me on the clean up mode.

  9. I do the same thing, everyone disappears when I start.

  10. This fever must be going around! I have seemed to caught it as well.

  11. Oh, that Lisa Souza yarn looks yummy! That’s one yarn I’ve never tried but it’s on my list.

  12. I watched a video called “Organizing from the Inside” by Julie Morgenstern today. Lots of good insights and a good approach. You might want to check your library to see if they have it. She has a couple+ books, too, I think.

You wanna take on organizing my office? 🙂
