Are you sick of soakers yet???

I’m so glad this baby is coming out relatively soon. Both boys were early, at 38 and 39 weeks. I’m trying not to assume that this one will be early too, but oh how I would appreciate it if baby shows up before week 40! I’m so wiped out with this one. Tired, swollen, and worn out! I feel like my feet are going to explode. I have a hopeful theory though:

Little Man: Super easy pregnancy, I bounced right through it. Little Man now? We’ll say he’s spirited, creative, spunky, but not easy! πŸ™‚ As one friend at playgroup said today (after I told her the story of how he played a “joke” yesterday that involved a giant jar of raisins being thrown all over the room) “I’m not sure what I’d do if my boys did stuff like that all the time.” Heh…..yeah.

Knittykid: Kind of easy pregnancy. More tiring, a bit of bed rest, but not too bad. And now, for the most part? Kind of an easy kid. He’s definitely more laid back than his big brother, that’s for sure, although he’s got his moments, and he’s BUSY.

Baby #3: Wearing me out, and just 35 weeks! So I’m hoping, maybe that means super easy kid? The kid who likes to sit and color all afternoon long? Who likes to help Mama clean up? (Do these children exist?)

Of course, I’m assuming that we’re getting another spunky little boy to join this family (or maybe a spunky girl?) but it’s funny to think about the possibility of a quiet, easy going little kid. I’m not sure I’d know what to do. I’m pretty used to the chaos by now, and crazily I think I prefer it a bit!

Anyway, enough of that theory. I’m just about finished up with soakers for now. A couple more to finish up, but here’s the latest showcase:

Heh – I have a friend with six kids and they are all spunky in their own way. Some are spunkier than others….but she manages somehow, and I rarely hear her complain (sometimes I hate that.)

  2. It will be exciting to see how he/she turns out. Hopefully not long now for you!

  3. Both of my kids–a boy and a girl–are spirited and spunky in their own ways. What makes my son more challenging is that his is more emotional than my daughter. He is also more social and therefore more chatty and insistent on my attention.

It’s amazing how they all come with their own distinct personalities. I was amazed when my daughter was born and I couldn’t get over how she was her own person. It shouldn’t be so surprising, but it was!

I only have two kids, so I don’t know for sure, but all my friends who have three say that it’s not incrementally harder than having two. They say the really big adjustment is going from one kid to two kids; after that, not such a big deal.

  5. We’re visiting my nieces and nephew in Seattle right now, and the two oldest are busy busy and the youngest is extremely easy going. I think you’re in luck. πŸ™‚ Maybe third kids are just naturally easy going… πŸ™‚

  6. I love those soakers and all the different yarns you used. Hang in there!

  7. I was born a year after my brother and my mother said that I was so much easier than my brother was that sometimes it hardly seemed like she had two babies. She never said much about my sister who came two years after me. I guess and I’m speaking from experience here, three is no more difficult than two. My third was a girl and if you ask me, raising girls has always been easier, though, I know others who see it differently.

  8. Quiet, easy-going kid? What’s that like I wonder? My kids are high energy. I hope that you get that sweet, easy child too. Rest up! You’ve almost made it!

  9. My last one was my hardest pregnancy, but she is my easiest going, most laid back personality. You’re nearly there.

  10. Those pants are really cute!! A quiet kid might get overrun at your place! πŸ™‚

  11. So if this is a little girl – you came up with her blog name – Spunky Girl!!

As for personalities, my kids range from 18 to 5 and they each have had their “What did I do to deserve this child?” moments. Lately, Youngest Daughter has taken to leaning over to Youngest Child and whispering, “Supplanter!” I don’t always see the humor of this!

  12. My older two sound like your two…#1 is VERY SPIRITED!!, #2 is still pretty spunky, but much more laid back about things than big brother. If you’re lucky, your #3 will be like mine…such an easy-going, laid-back little dude. I find myself constantly surprised that babies actually act this way…I thought the other moms were lying (or just plain delusional) when they described kids acting the way Beeb does.

But whatever he or she ends up as, I’m sure it will be a blast!
