I have to laugh – hey, did the 7 year old sneak some ice cream and take it to do his mathwork? Chaos, gotta love it. (Otherwise, why would we have kids?

Your goals are reasonable and thoughtful. Sometimes, setting goals is a good enough goal to get you through the year. But I think giving love is easier than all the other goals.

My friend has a child who is 6 months now. He is so easy to take care of at this point because he will lay on the floor on a blanket and be enthralled by everything, including his feet. We get so much done, as opposed to when he was 2 months or 3 months and he needed to be constantly held. Different life totally!

I like your goal. I was reading your post, wondering what kind of goals you might set for yourself and marveling at the kinds of people who set goals, especially about things like knitting.

My kids are about the same age as yours and I’ll tell you–giving love is the best I can hope to manage this year, too.

I was going to say be brave and persevere – things are bound to get better – but really, in some ways, right now is pretty good too. Six-almost-seven is pretty nice! And, I think they use less toilet paper as well.
